I have received several questions regarding OBRA's liability insurance prompted by the article on the VeloNews web page. Interestingly, I spoke to the reporter and told him that although USAC seems to have a problem with their liability insurance we do not. Reading the article it seems that he decided to downplay this in favor of the scare tactic of insinuating that the "alternative" organizations may have problems. I have discussed the subject with our insurance agent. He saw that there were problems coming with insurance through Harbour and he switched us to a different carrier as of July 1, well before USAC even knew they had a problem. Also, in contrast to USAC, we will not be experiencing a rate increase. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions on this subject. Mike Murray |
