Greetings Northwest Cyclists,

Here are a few headlines for Thursday:

1) Junior Nationals: Farrar, Southerland, Buckley all medal; Tracy qualifies
for sprint rounds... http://nwracereport.com/news/junior_nats02_3track.htm

2) Tour de White Rock: McCormack, Espeseth roll to wins in one of the
richest road races in the Northwest...
http://nwracereport.com/race_coverage/race_coverage_road/white_rock02.htm

3) McClung is back: If you're wondering what kind of insanity surrounds the
U.S. national team, wonder no more. McClung has the scoop. This time it's
racing the Tour de Trump...
http://nwracereport.com/columnists/mcclung/mcclung_trump.htm

4) Roadside Prophets: The popular series is back. This month, Northwest
racers and coaches tell how they cope with racing and working fulltime.
Insightful training tips abound... http://nwracereport.com/index.htm

Editor's note: We'll have daily and often twice-daily coverage of track
junior nationals at the Major Taylor Velodrome in Indianapolis, which, by
the way, is a beautiful facility and I encourage anyone interested in
cycling to take a look if they're ever in that neck of the woods. Also, I
encourage everyone to take a look at Rich McClung's columns about racing for
the U.S. national team. He's likely one of the best bicycle-racing writers
around. His latest, the Tour de Trump, will especially appeal to all those
growing up and racing in the early and mid 80's. Remember Henk Lubberding
and Ti Raleigh?

Other notes: This week's pop-up ad features Washington racer Kenny Williams.
Now, I know for a fact that Williams is paid nothing for promoting Optygen
and First Endurance products. Okay, he does get free product, but we're
talking capsules here, not tires or saddles or something he sells off at the
end of the season. If it didn't work, why would he continue to promote it
just to get more of... well, of something that doesn't work?

Click on the ad. Take a look at their web site. There are more than a
handful professional riders and national champions using their product. In
fact, I talked with Prime Alliance pro Russell Stevenson the other day, and
come to find out, he uses Optygen as well. So, take a look and remember,
these folks support Northwest cycling.

That's it. I'll see you at the races.
