After over 10 years of promoting on private, public, BLM, Forest Service and at a ski resort I have learned a lot of things affect race numbers besides turn out.

As I said I would much rather put a race on IF there were racers BUT

Here are the summer issue's

1. Fire Danger...a race can be shut down really quick
2. Bird Sex...yes I am kicked off certain trails, certain times of the year so the birds can hump
3. Permits...some agency's will not give permits during the summer for certain trails because it is a high use season for rec users

But it mostly comes down to rider turn out, sorry I held on as long as I could in the Summer
