I am not so sure about the improving the macho image part. Have you ever
seen bike racers fight?

When I first read this challenge I thought, "Boys, boys - too much
testosterone".
But on further reflection I think this is a great publicity opportunity.
I mean what does cycling need the most these days? That's right - a more
macho image! We'll get no respect from the masses as long as they
continue to believe we're a bunch of pretty boys pedaling around in our
underwear.
So here's what we should do. Tuesday evening a couple hours prior to the
fight do a screening of "The karate Kid" to get everyone in the mood.
Set up an area where the racers can pedal their trainers while getting
ready. Meanwhile, our two fighters can do their own warm up further
enhancing the spectacle. Then the fight, followed immediately by the
race. Imagine the level of excitement and intensity we could create! Epic!
Oh, did I mention we should have the media out to show everyone how
tough we are? Yea, that too. Michael Ball will be so jealous he didn't
think of it first!
