Just a thought for the lawyers out there. Are bicycle lanes considered lanes
of traffic? If so, wouldn't they require permits to shut them down, the same
as a road? Also, wouldn't the construction crews be opening themselves up to
a huge liability if a bicyclist was struck while moving out into traffic
because of a sign they placed in the middle of a lane of traffic?

Just some thoughts,
Kevin
