Wow!!! That was an event. Any one that was not there, really missed out. It was either the best cycling event we have ever been to, or at least in the same class as Sea Otter and the World's largest 24 Hour mountain bike race, the 24 Hours of Snowshoe. The crowds where huge and they were loud! The competition was great. Jeremy and myself had a great time and were so proud and happy for Oregon racing. The event was very well organized. In comparison to what we see at big national events this was better and much more racer friendly. There were so many cool extras for everyone. I am thinking of free chips, and noise makers for the crowd and free dairy products and jucies for the riders. Knowing the event was getting TV coverage was exciting and puts it on par with some of the other great events we have seen. Jeremy loved getting to meet some of the really great names in track racing. Of course Marty was very high on that list, but he was excited to meet and talk to many of the other great racers that were at the race. And of course he had a great time getting to see many of the great heros of Oregon Track racing. So far being able to do demos in front of his favorite group of racers in the world ( OREGON RACERS ), is the highlight of his year. There really is no place like home and Oregon will always be our home. We will never be able to express how much you guys mean to us and how much you have helped us out as a famliy. It will never change, Jeremy would not be having the fun he is having today with out your support. Thanks to everyone involved in putting on this event. We can hardly wait for next year. Actually we are hoping the National Champions at Mount Snow, Vermont and the World Championships at Vail, Coloradao can be this fun and exciting. Jim and Jeremy VanSchoonhoven |
