Yesterday I did the 70 mile Livestrong ride. The timing was very appropriate since it was almost 5 months to the day I had brain surgery to remove a malignant tumor. My mind and drive wanted to do the 100 miles, but as I was getting passed by ladies on mtb's, I realized that option wouldn't have been prudent! If I posted all the thanks that I wanted to give, it would probably tie up the OBRA server, so I'll just note the one most related to this list: the Team Rubicon support van. I had 2 flat tires, one at mile 20 and the next at mile 60. It was caused by a shard of glass about the size of half a dime. They didn't have a spare tire the first time so they agreed with my plan of using a dollar bill for a boot, and put the tire on and pumped it up for me. The second time was on Marine Drive and apparently were right behind me noticing I kept looking back at my rear tire. I stopped
