I agree, but the judge felt that a coaster brake was different than a fixed gear b/c the coaster brake itself was a different devise than the fixed gear. I disagree with that interpretation of the law. while more than one brake or type of brake might be nice, the law just says basically 'brake that makes the wheel skid.' think about that, what if you have a bike with only a FRONT brake and a police officer stops you and says "show me that your bike complies with ORS 815.280(2)(a), or I will give you a ticket"
good luck, let me know how the destists appointment goes afterwards. the law was written when coaster brake one speeds were the norm.
