I should have said: "Don't brake cables break Officer Barnum?"

I know for a fact that both brake cables and chains break. Not on a properly
maintained bike, or one with properly manufactured components, but it can
happen. I meant my comment as a counterpoint to the officer's question:
"What would you do if your chain broke?"
