It doesn't look like they accounted for time spent doing any particular
activity. Deaths per thousands hours riding as compared to deaths per
thousand hours in a vehicle would be a fair comparison. The odds my mom dies
on a bike are incredibly slim as she doesn't ride, the odds I die on a bike
are likely significantly higher then the figure below as I spend more time
on my bike then the average person.
