DON'T MISS THIS RACE! The Swan Island Classic on May 6th in being put on expressly to demonstrate that women can be offered the same racing categories as men successfully. Not only will this race offer women equivalent categories to race in, but the generous cash and merchandise prizes are spread equitably amongst men and women and amongst all categories---meaning that Masters and category 4 men and women will also have the opportunity to win great prizes. We even have gift certificates for elegant Moonstruck chocolate and massages from Nature's Lake Oswego as prizes---just in time for Mother's Day! The second purpose of the race is to raise money to support the BTA's bicycle education program for kids. In tune with this, there will be a free kid's race at noon, with dark chocolate lollipops (dinosaurs, dolphins and teddy bears) as prizes for all entrants. The race will be spectator friendly, with live music by the Booth Dog Band, Peet's offering samples of coffee and tea, Odwalla there with juice. If you don't usually race crits, there is a rehearsal/training ride tomorrow, Sat 4/28, 9:30 am on the course at Leverman and Cutter's Circle. So, DON'T MISS THIS RACE!
