If I am correct there was a bust in Corvallis a few years back because some guy came into one of the bike shops and kept asking for boxes for shipping. The bike shop got suspecios and notified the police. The police busted the guy and found out that was their scheme. And then, there was the Corvallis small bicycle shop owner that was voted "small businessman of the year," because the shop was doing so darned well...a week later he was busted for selling dope. He shall remain nameless here...a friend, and I hope he's doing well these days! Sorry for going a tad OT...couldn't resist... The thief has a friend or brother that has a bike shop on the other side of the country. The thief steals expensive bikes, gets a box from the local bike shop and then ships it for the 25 to 50 dollars. The brother or friend then sells the bike for 75% of retail and give the new customer some lame story about the previous owner having a hardship and needing to sell the bike to pay for a family emergency or something...
