This year's addition of the "Middle of May Track Races", which for the
past few years has been tied together with the Beaverton Crit now faces
a conflict with the addition to the schedule of the State Team Time
Trial on the same day.

When the May Track Races were started about 8 years ago, they were held
on the Memorial Day weekend. After two year they were shifted back one
week so that there would be less competition with the long weekend and
low attendance. This seems to have worked as the number of riders has
risen. Last may saw the largest turnout ever of 63 riders. This is
truly remarkable for a single day event when compared to events such as
World Masters Games and the AVC for example.

With the above mentioned conflict of dates it appears that the May Track
Race would have to be moved back to Memorial Day. The original reason
for a late May race date has been to reduce the chance of a rain out, so
moving up to an earlier date in May still seems risky.

Prior to making a decision to move to the Memorial Day weekend or just
canceling the event entirely, you are asked to submit your comments via
reply email as to what your feelings are on this matter.

Thank you for your reading and comment time
