NORTH RIVER RACING RIDES WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND The North River Racing Team has hooked up with the Washington State School for the Blind to raise funds for the School's tandem bike riding program. This past year various North River racers and other local bike enthusiasts teamed up with student's from the School on tandem bikes, taking rides throughout the Vancouver area. It was a fun and rewarding experience for both the students and the volunteers. The Washington State School for the Blind is located in Vancouver, WA and attracts students from throughout the state. Most of these students leave their families for the week and live on the campus during the school year. Anxious to get out and get active, our stoker/captain teams set out to explore the Vancouver area and experience its many sites of interest. On July 31st members of the North River Racing squad will participate along with many other cycling teams from throughout the West Coast (California, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Montana, Nevada, and Canada) in a select bicycle event to be held for the very first time in downtown Vancouver, WA. The Vancouver Courthouse Criterium is the first ever series of bicycle races to be held in downtown Vancouver The figure 8 course offers spectacular spectator views of what we expect will be wild and woolly races throughout the day. Funds raised from sponsorships and race fees will go to benefit students at the School.
