Ok my delete key is starting to wear out! We are all adults and we should no
the laws of the road. If we abide by them, all is fine. Yes there is extreme
cases with problem stoplight triggers/sensors and all, but really we know if
we are breaking a law or not...can we please move on....maybe even go ride
our bikes.

Cheers
Mark

<DIV></DIV>>I agree, Pete --- except that as it currently stands the fine for a cyclist
<DIV></DIV>>& a motorist running a red light is exactly the same.  Which, when viewed in
<DIV></DIV>>terms of the risk to public safety, is ridiculous.  Fine schedules for
<DIV></DIV>>traffic violations were increased in the last legislative session, with (for
<DIV></DIV>>Portland at least) the increased income devoted to a traffic safety fund
<DIV></DIV>>(for enforcement, education, & some engineering).  In the current
<DIV></DIV>>legislature i saw last week a bill had been introduced in the State Senate
<DIV></DIV>>to reduce the traffic fines on cyclists --- an excellent idea.
