Which, when viewed in terms of the risk to public safety, is ridiculous. Fine schedules for traffic violations were increased in the last legislative session, with (for Portland at least) the increased income devoted to a traffic safety fund (for enforcement, education, & some engineering). In the current legislature i saw last week a bill had been introduced in the State Senate to reduce the traffic fines on cyclists --- an excellent idea. jeff Pete wrote: Advocate for heavier traffic fines and prosecution of the people who break the law.
