The Alpenrose Challenge is coming up quickly. As a memorial tribute to Carl Cadonau I want to make this event go off as big as possible. Lots of fast racers on the track and standing room crowds is the goal. Many of the fastest bike track racers need support in order to come to this event since sponsor support for track racing is a pretty rare item. I am looking for people to sponsor riders for this event. Often just $100-200 will make the difference to convince a rider to travel to the event. If you let me know who you would like to see and how much you could give in support I will contact that rider to let him know we want him here. You can identify any specific rider that you want. If you have contact information to help me that would be great but I can try to find them if you don't. Here are some suggested names: Colby Pearce - US Olympic Team member, US Hour record holder Mike Beers - 2002 National Kilo Champion Bobby Lea - 2003 National Kilo and Pursuit Stephen Alfred - 2003 National Sprint Champion and multiple times Alpenrose Challenge sprint and keirin winner Mike Creed - new USPS rider, 20 times National Champion and web page writer extraordinaire All of the above riders have already contacted me so we know they are interested and will likely show up with just a little encouragement. If you need some other potential names let me know. In the past a few people have been very generous with support this way. It would be great if people could step up and help individual name riders make it to the Alpenrose Challenge this year to make it the best one to date. Let me know how you want to see here and how much you can put towards that. Mike Murray |
