Campagnolo Newsletter - number 12
October 2000

Summary:
1. ErgoBrain10
2. Record Ultra·Drive sprockets
3. Chain replacement - update
4. Errata corrige: 2001 range price list
5. Errata corrige: 2000 spare parts price list

1. ErgoBrain10
The ErgoBrain10 is currently being shipped: some
deliveries have been sent and the others will follow
with monthly cadence.
The "plus" features of the ErgoBrain10 (compared to
the ErgoBrain we've described in the Campagnolo
Newsletter n. 10) are:
- the rear-illumination (back-lit screen);
- the acoustic functions (for training).
In the Campagnolo 2001 catalogue and in the web site
(www.campagnolo.com) you'll find a complete
description of these functions and all the other
features of the ErgoBrain10.
The ErgoBrain10 is compatible with the 9s groups ('99
and 2000 range) but it is necessary to use the
ErgoBrain10 "main unit" (code CI00-EB10C2) with the 9s
"assembly kit" (code CI00-EB09B1).

2. Record Ultra·Drive sprockets
All the Campagnolo 2001 sprockets, evolution of the
Exa-Drive, have been named Ultra·Drive (UD). As
regards the Record group, these are the available
sprocket sets and the materials for the 2001 UD range:

10 speed:
Record UD (steel+titanium) sprockets: 11-21, 11-23,
12-25, 13-26, 13-29*
Record UD Titanium (all titanium) sprockets: 11-23**,
12-25, 13-26, 13-29*
* = Record 10s rear derailleur with medium cage
** = the 11 first position sprocket is made of steel

9 speed:
Record UD (steel+titanium) sprockets: 12-23, 13-23,
13-26

3. Chain replacement - update
In the first Newsletter we've described a method to
determine when you have to replace the chain (C9 and
C10). Make sure that the measurement to refer of is
132.60 mm and not 132.50 mm as previously indicated
(this is due to new test we've made last year).
So we would like to remind the method (described in
the chain instruction manual). You have to use a high
precision (0,01 mm resolution) caliper gauge to
measure, in different points of the chain, the length
between six links (as indicated in the figure on the
manual) and if even one of the measurement is longer
than 132.60 mm the chain must be replaced.

4. Errata corrige: 2001 range price list
Two errata corrige for the 2001 range price list:
- the code of the Ergopower cables and casings for
Daytona, Veloce and Mirage groups (EG-ER201) must be
substituted with the code EG-ER102 (Euro 8.223, Lire
15,921);
- for the Record 10s Titanium UD sprockets you have to
add a "T" at the end of the code: CSK00-RE1013T
instead of CSK00-RE1013, CSK00-RE1025T instead of
CSK00-RE1025, CSK00-RE1036T instead of CSK00-RE1036,
CSK00-RE1039T instead of CSK00-RE1039.

5. Errata corrige: 2000 spare parts price list
Record and Chorus quick-releases for the 2000 range
(omitted in the 2000 spare parts price list) have not
changed compared to the 1999 price list:

57,930)
