Hi, Racers,
I'm sure many of you know local cyclist and free-lance writer Otis Rubottom. He's been racing in OBRA for years, and I believe he's a Cat. 2 now. (If I'm wrong about that--Sorry, Otis!)

Anyway, this coming Monday, December 1, Otis will be reading/introducing Rubber to the Road, Volume 2," at Powell's Books on Hawthorne. 7:30 pm, 3723 SE Hawthorne, Portland. This event is free and open to the public.

Otis is the editor of this new guidebook, which includes maps and directions for 30 more great bike rides around the Portland area. This book will make a great stocking stuffer that special cyclist in your life. It retails for $10, and part of the sale price of every book goes to support two local nonprofits--the Community Cycling Center and the Bicycle Transportation Alliance.

Otis will introduce the book and talk about some of the most interesting and challenging rides found within. Buy your copy onsite and get it signed by the man himself!

I encourage everyone who can make it to come out and pack the house (Powell's on Hawthorne, SE Hawthorne and 38th). It's going to be a fun event, especially if we get a good crowd of locals there who know Otis personally!
