Make your way through town (it turns into Country Club) to Boones Ferry, and stay on Boones Ferry all the way to Wilsonville. A lot of BF has bike lanes, and it's nearly dead flat. I've ridden almost all the following streets and roads. It would be a challenging commute of about 20 miles with a few not-so-easy climbs, and if traveling when it's dark, unlit sections of road and plenty of traffic at rush hours. I suggest trying it on a weekend first. Here's one way to go. There are other longer routes that might be a little more bike friendly and maybe a little less hilly. I'm purposely choosing more bike friendly streets where possible, at least on the way to Sellwood. You probably wouldn't go this way in a car. Better get a map or Mapquest.com for this: From 18th and SE Washington make your way South and West to cross the Willamette via the Sellwood bridge (or alternately, the Hawthorne bridge). You want to get to Rt. 43 South. You could go: south to Salmon, turn west (on Salmon) to 7th, turn south to Division, (here you could hook up with the new section of the Springwater Trail a couple of blocks west, that goes along the river, past Oaks Amusement Park to the Sellwood Bridge ~OR~) from 7th and Division continue: turn east on Division for a short distance to 9th, turn south to Mall, turn east to 17th, turn south to Bybee, turn west to Sellwood Blvd, turn southwest to 7th, turn south to Tacoma, turn west across the Sellwood bridge to Rt. 43 (a.k.a. Macadam). Now go south over the hill on Rt. 43 (Macadam becomes Riverside Dr. then State St. - it's a busy road with no shoulder) to downtown Lake Oswego, to McVey, turn southwest on McVey, up the hill, becomes Stafford Rd. Stay on Stafford, down the hill to Wankers Corner, cross I-205, up another hill and all the way to Wilsonville where Stafford becomes Wilsonville Rd. You can email me for some alternate route choices, and maybe let me know if I goofed on some of the details...
