Just by someone that wants to 'settle under the table' Go figure - the driver works in the insurance industry and she suggested to my friend that 'we just take care of it' THAT and the police officer did NOT write a report because my pal stated she was not too badly injured physically. I thought the cops filed reports on scene and the doctors and chiros figured out physical suffering. I would not leave a judgement like that to a beat cop. The bike is wrecked. Seems like the dollar value on the repair might warrant a report for any future claim. Makes me wonder how many other incidents are going unfiled at the cop shop. If each call does not generate a report, then the numbers that researchers depend on >> incidents counted from police reports may be unrealistically LOW. I do know that since our report was filed at least one lawyer used the report to solicit us to use his services. Please hold good thoughts for our recovering pals. Each is sad that she cannot ride right now. Its specially bad since the clean air action days are upon us - and the bus - while a moderately viable alternative - takes twice as long.
