BTA Offers Scholarships for Oregon Bicycle Conference

The BTA wants to see YOU at the Oregon Bicycle Conference, in Portland on
June 4-6th! And we're prepared to offer you the big bucks to be thereS

Scholarships are available to Oregon bicycle and pedestrian advocates,
teachers and health professionals who want to make their communities safer,
healthier and more bike friendly. Attendance to the three-day conference,
normally a $290 cost, is available for $90 and includes luncheons, dinner
receptions, and other events. Several full scholarships are also available,
based on need.

The OBC is part of the League of American Bicyclists' National Bicycle
Education Leaders Conference hosted by the BTA in Portland. An "Oregon
track" will focus on where we've come from and where we want to go in
building better communities in Oregon - and how to get there. Other topics
include information on Safe Routes to Schools, teaching adult cyclists,
organizing bicycle events, and other innovative education and instruction
techniques and efforts.

We'll also celebrate with a Wednesday night BBQ party sponsored by Resource
Revival, and a Thursday night bike parade through First Thursday galleries,
ending with a Bike Art party at the EcoTrust building.
